    Origin 

    Egypt Lemongrass is a genus of about fifty-five species of grasses, native to warm temperate and tropical regions. It is a popular herb in Thai and Indian cooking. Lemongrass, or Cymbopogon Citratus, is primarily harvested for its flavorful lowerstalk and contains minerals like potassium, iron, zinc, calcium, copper, manganese and magnesium.

    Citral

    Lemongrass contains the flavor constituent citral, which is responsible for most of the lemon scents and flavors in nature, including that found in lemon fruit, lemon balm, and lemon verbena. Citral is regarded to have antiseptic, antibacterial properties.
