Harris Teeter Raises more than $7.4 Million at Checkout for Non-Profit Partners
Company thanks shoppers, valued associates for generous 2020 Round Up contributions.
Matthews, N.C. – In 2020, Harris Teeter donated more than $7.4 million to various non-profit partners across its marketing areas. The donations were made possible through generous contributions made at checkout during the Company’s in-store Round Up Campaigns held throughout the year.
Harris Teeter shoppers and associates were invited to round up their transaction to the nearest dollar to support the Company’s partner non-profit organizations, including American Cancer Society (ACS), American Heart Association (AHA), Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD), Classroom Central, Feeding America food bank partners and agencies, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), local food banks, , Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), Salvation Army, United Way and United Service Organization (USO).
“Harris Teeter is incredibly thankful for the generosity our valued associates and loyal shoppers continue to show during our Round Up campaigns,” said Danna Robinson, communication manager for Harris Teeter. “The last year has been extremely challenging for many of the organizations we support, and the funds collected at checkout help provide relief to many of these organizations, allowing them to continue offering critical programs and services which directly benefit our associates, our shoppers and the communities we serve.”

Since 2017, Harris Teeter has donated nearly $19 million to various non-profit partners through its in-store point-of-sale donation campaigns.
One hundred percent of the funds collected through Harris Teeter’s Round Up Campaigns were donated to the local non-profit in the community in which the donation was made. These donations are tax deductible by the individual who generously gave at checkout. Harris Teeter does not claim these donations for tax credits or deductions.
