We’re talking salads, soups, pastas, sandwiches, tacos, casseroles, an entrée on its own and more - these delish birds simply save time when you’re racing against the cluck. Here, we’ll share delicious rotisserie chicken recipes, nutritional info, reheating tips and more.

How Long is Rotisserie Chicken Good For?

Simply let the chicken cool and then store it in a covered container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Is Rotisserie Chicken Healthy?

It’s a great choice for a low-fat, lean source of protein that provides many beneficial vitamins and minerals. Its nutritional value does, however, depend on a few factors.

  1. White or Dark Meat - Dark meat has more calories and saturated fat than white meat, but dark meat is more flavorful and boasts more iron and zinc than white meat.
  2. Sodium – You can find the sodium content on the rotisserie chicken packaging.
  3. Skin or No Skin - The skin has saturated fat, but if you love chicken skin, you don’t have to skip it. Just be sure to factor the skin into how much saturated fat you’ve consumed that day.

How Do You Reheat Rotisserie Chicken?

There are a few ways to do this, depending on how much time you have. For all options, be sure to first remove the chicken from the packaging.

  • Microwave
Pull the desired amount of chicken off the bones and into pieces. Place the chicken on a microwave-safe plate and cover with a damp paper towel.
    Microwave for about 2 minutes.
  • Air Fryer
This is your go-to for extra-crispy skin. Turn your air fryer to 350°F and heat chicken 3-4 minutes.
  • Stovetop
Your stovetop is great for reheating chicken that’s been removed from the bone and shredded (or chopped). Add 1-2 tablespoons of oil to your skillet
over medium-high heat. When the oil is heated through, add the chicken and stir frequently until the it’s heated through (about 5 minutes).
  • Oven
For the best results, we recommend reheating in the oven at 350°F. You can pour a cup of chicken broth in the bottom of your oven-safe pan to keep
the chicken moist. Then cover with foil and roast for about 25 minutes. For crisper skin, remove the foil and roast for 5 more minutes.

How Much Chicken Do You Get from a Rotisserie Chicken?

The average rotisserie chicken weighs about 2 pounds and yields about 3 cups of chicken (2 cups of white meat and 1 cup of dark meat).
